Once exposed to water and oxygen, these bacteria become active and multiply rapidly. Within 12–36 hours, they begin reducing ammonium and nitrite levels efficiently. Effective at water temperatures above 10 °C – ideal for spring start-up or post-medication recovery of your filter. Ensure medication residues are removed beforehand (e.g., with activated carbon or water changes).
