To keep the pond water clean, a minimal amount of ozone, hydrogen peroxide, oxygen and volatile chlorine is produced. To initiate this process, only the addition of a small amount of salt is required. In combination with copper ionisation, the « Plug & Swim » ensures sustainably clear water.
Hydrolysis oxidation
The functional principle is based on the combination of copper (CU++) as a flocculating agent and bactericide together with a hydrolysis system which, through the splitting of water molecules into oxidant disinfectants such as oxygen, ozone and peroxide, enables holistic water treatment without chemical additives.
Hydrolysis
Water (H² O) consists of two parts hydrogen (H²) and one part oxygen (O). Hydrolysis means that the water molecule is split. When electrical current flows through the water, the chemical bond between H and O is broken. The negative oxygen concentrations (or ions) move towards the positive electrodes (anodes).
During hydrolysis, other chemical reactions also take place, producing additional specific ions which also oxidise and thus provide additional disinfection.
Copper ionisation
The combined use of copper ionisation greatly enhances the efficiency of hydrolysis. The antibacterial and algicidal power of the copper system forms a strong unit with the high oxidation rate of the hydrolysis system and ensures perfect water treatment, free of chemical additives. This system is also effective against legionella bacteria.
Fish ponds
The « Plug & Swim » is not suitable for filtration in fish ponds.
